Ballard Millworks

Ballard Millworks is an urban mill & woodshop, and also now a storefront on Ballard Avenue. Every tree is different, and every tree we mill is connected to Seattle natural history. Instead of clear-cut or farmed trees, we use sustainably harvested trees that would have been thrown into the chipper or chopped into firewood.

Thanks to our partnership with Fluent Tree Pro and other local arborists, nearly all our wood comes from trees within 10 miles of our little mill in Ballard. The salvaged trees are milled into slabs, air dried for 1–2 years, then cured further using a kiln drying process. The result is uniquely local lumber for making uniquely beautiful furniture.
